Face authentication: the easy way! Written on

As a developer-first company, we are always looking into ways to make the integration of secure and private face authentication as smooth as possible!
From our experience, the integration of biometric products can be complicated, to say the least! Whether we want to upgrade an existing solution or integrate face authentication systems, we will typically face some problems:
- Complex concepts and definitions not explained in an easy to follow manner.
- No human-friendly testbed where to start with a few clicks and zero software integration.
- Super complex low-level SDK with millions of parameters to tune.
We have integrated dozens of biometric engines and cameras and implemented fault-tolerant real-time video acquisition systems. That's why we understand your pain so well and we have made it possible for you to test the performance of our products with zero code.

Face API UI Demo now available!
Our face analysis and authentication algorithms are at the core of all products we build at YooniK.
Regardless of the type of application you're building, testing the algorithms yourself is a must. To help you out, we have just released our Face API UI Demo, which is readily available from our website.
You can simply subscribe to a Face API free plan now and test it right away. Then just go to your Dashboard and under the API Access section, you will find the Web Demo URL. It's as simple as that!
No code integration needed!
Below is an interesting test case involving Chad Smith and Will Ferrel who appeared together in The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. YooniK Face returns a No Match, considering they are very different. Would you know which is which? And if you're feeling creative, why not try it out with your favourite celebrities?

Use cases
There are a multiple use cases you can try out. Check out a few examples below.
Face images verification
In this case, you want to validate if two face images belong to the same person. This can be done under the Match Images section.
Verification and authentication applications are common in scenarios where the users claim to be someone by presenting proof of their identity. If you're looking to integrate identity verification on any edge device, mobile app, or website, this is where you want to start to validate the biometric performance.
Face identification
In this case, you want to validate if one face image belongs to the same person as any image in a database of many images, the so called one-to-many matching. This can be done under the Identification & Gallery section.
This scenario is different from the verification one, since the users need to first register their face to build a biometric signature. The biometric signature is then used to identify if a given person is allowed access to some place, service, or goods. The biometric signature can be thought of as a mathematical transformation of the face image into a vector of numbers in a fully irreversible and encrypted manner. Face images are discarded right after this transformation is finished.
Passwordless or multi-factor authentication
User authentication is similar to the one-to-one verification scenario, since the user provides an identifier (e.g. username) that allows performing a comparison directly between two biometric signatures.
If you're looking to create a frictionless, no password application or improve your existing user authentication login with multi-factor biometrics: we've got your back!
Check out our Web API that enables easy integration of such capabilities into your software. As a super bonus, we provide ready-to-go code samples on how to integrate with major identity management solutions such as auth0, Azure, AWS, Okta, OneLogin, and many more to come.
